I'll pull the manual oiler parts, rim drive clutch drum, Tillotson carb, fasteners, and other useable stuff from the "Piss-XL" and ditch the rest. Adjusting the carburetor on idle is the safest and easiest of the three speeds. Before you attempt any adjustment, be sure that doing so will not void your Homelite warranty. May also swap the pyramid reed setup and carb box/rear handle from a dead SXL I have onto that XL-12 too. A Homelite chainsaw carburetor adjustment needs to be performed on all three speeds: idle, low and high. I'm going to pull the P/C and put them in a dead, but nice looking red/black XL-12 I got a while back.

Yours has a regular line and clunk filter, and a grommet where the line passes through the tank. I can’t seem to find the 20 bar that came with the saw, so it’s being sold as PHO. but doesn’t want to stay running, so I would say it needs fuel system work.
